Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed her role. She was not allowed to perform in front of her family until an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the strain it might result in. Perry states that she did not want to be an actor in high school, but she decided to begin performing as a form of social interaction during her time at Northwestern University when she switched to it from Boston University. Perry went on to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then brought Perry back to California which was where theatre jobs were available. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's political thriller Scandal that starred her father. She also played her younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, a CBS spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. Despite her family link to the character she received the role via an audition.
