David Muir is an American journalist and anchor best known for his ABC news program World News Tonight with David Muir as well as for the ABC News magazine 20/20 for where he acts as an anchor and co-anchor. Its dramatic video footage and its animated gestures has made it the top seen newscast in America. Made In America has also been selected for the Emmy Awards. His predecessor, Diane Sawyer's main replacement anchor before he took over ABC World News Tonight. In the past he's covered a variety of ABC News primetime specials including Breaking Point Heroin in America. He has traveled around the globe, report on the news from Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti & the Gulf of Mexico. The awards he has received include numerous Edward R. Murrow Awards in addition to awards from The Associated Press.
