Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. In her early Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating in projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout the course of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. She was the star of two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
